’s August Issue––

Burlington, MA (July 18, 2017) — Café Escadrille has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2017 Restaurant Awards. The restaurant is recognized among other winners from all over the globe as a top destination for wine lovers.

“Restaurants continue to raise their game when it comes to wine, and we are particularly proud to present this year’s winners,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Editor & Publisher, Wine Spectator. “As wine becomes more important to diners, the Awards program is thriving—with an increasing number of entries, as well as growing print, digital and social audiences. Wine Spectator congratulates each and every award winner.”

“I am proud to work for someone like Bob Murray who is willing to really commit to having a world class wine program. You can’t just snap your fingers and put together the kind of wine list that we have. Not many independent restaurants are willing to employ a fulltime wine director, allowing me to assure that our customers have the very best experience possible. Finding the perfect wine for our customers is something I take great pride in and making sure our customers know the reasoning behind my selections. Finding the perfect wine is one thing, but knowing the reason why is a whole new level that we take very seriously at Café Escadrille. We welcome all wine drinkers and are always willing to answer any questions people may have. It’s only with decades of work by Bob and the Café Escadrille Wine staff that we have been able to reach this goal,” Says David Bradbury, Wine Director

Café Escadrille has won the Best of Award of Excellence.

Best of Award of Excellence recipients offer more extensive selections with significant vintage depth and excellent breadth across multiple regions. This is the second highest award from Wine Spectator. This recognition and award is extremely rare and unique for an independently owned restaurant like Café Escadrille. This is the first year that Café Escadrille had been nominated and was able to amaze Wine Spectator with their extensive wine list and their prestige knowledge and over all experience at Café Escadrille.

The complete list of award winners is available in print in Wine Spectator’s August issue, on newsstands July 18, and online at, where visitors can search and access exclusive content on the more than 3,500 restaurants. The full list is also available for free on iOS via the Restaurant Awards app, which allows users to look for dining spots in any location with maps, choosing by wine strengths, cuisine type, pricing and more.
