Join Cafe Escadrille for Samples of Captain Morgan White Rum
With most of its production occurring on Caribbean islands and in Latin America, rum has provided the punch – pun intended – for many of summertime’s most popular cocktails, including the daiquiri, piña colada, and hurricane, just to name a few. If you enjoy this sugarcane-derived favorite, we invite you to join us at 5 pm Thursday night for Captain Morgan White Rum Night at Café Escadrille.
In our patio and mahogany bar, members of the Captain Morgan team will be on hand tonight, August 15th, to serve up Free Samples of its White Rum variety – a five-times distilled 80 proof rum that is aged in white oak barrels for more than a year.
The Captain Morgan brand was launched more than 75 years ago in 1944 when the Canada-based Seagram Company (formerly known as Seagram’s) began producing rum under the name Captain Morgan Rum. At that time, Seagram’s purchased a distillery in Jamaica from a family-owned business that had been purchasing raw rum and adding medicinal herbs and spices, and then aging and bottling the product. Seagram’s CEO Samuel Bronfman liked this spiced rum so much, he bought the rights to the recipe. Today, many varieties of Captain Morgan, including its White Rum, are among the most popular rums sold throughout the world.
Now that you’ve learned a little bit about the history of this well-known spiced liquor, please join us tonight at Cafe Escadrille for an evening of Free Samples of Captain Morgan White Rum
